H3 treated pine has been quoted by various Australian timber industry bodies to be capable to last anywhere between 4 to 30+ years left outdoors. How long your furniture will last depends on a variety of factors and how well it has been maintained.
Some of these factors and advice on how to address maintaining them are included below.
Timber usually rots from the bottom up and brick paving will be beneficial over soil or grass.
How often do you re-apply a coat of finish? A fresh coat of the product that was initially applied: paint/varnish/stain or oil, is best re-applied annually or when your furniture looks like it could use with a touch-up.
Tightening up the nuts on the legs of the furniture.
Our picnic tables are almost always exclusively sold fully assembled. Our picnic tables have been designed to be capable of being stacked and transported in a safe and space efficient manner.
In case you prefer to purchase your picnic table/s flat packed for ease of transportation, please notify this to us.

When timber undergoes preservative treatment in a vacuum pressure chamber.
Timber treatments have been assigned a code system. This is represented by the symbol of a capital 'H' followed by a specific number that ranges from 1 to 5. The H codes (H1 to H5) are conditional use codes representing appropriate levels of preservative treatments. H3 treated timber is the minimum level of preservative treatment required to protect the timber from attack by decay fungi and insects, including termites. H3 preservative treatment offers protection in situations above-ground, exposed to the weather or periodic wetting.
We are open to using a wide variety of timbers upon request. Pine, Jarrah, Engineered Wood/Recycled Composite. We default to using structural H3 LOSP Pine.
All timber finishes wear away gradually, requiring periodic re-coating, approximately once per year or when it looks like the timber could use a touch-up.
Acrylic Paint
Purpose: To protect and change the look of timber. All colours are available. Is very durable.
Water Based Timber Stains
Purpose: Designed to penetrate and change the colour of wood while leaving the grain visible. This allows the natural beauty of the wood to come through while still offering some protection.
Polyurethane Varnish
Purpose: Seals and protects timber leaving behind a slick, almost glassy finish that is transparent and helps make cleaning food and beverage spills easier. Can be applied over a paint, stain, or oil finish. Ensures that the natural colour and grain of the wood remains visible. Is very durable.
Oiling
Purpose: Designed to bring out the character in wood whist offering some protection. Is easy to re-coat.
We offer 4 years of manufacturing defects and critical structural timber damage and materials warranty. This is the longest warranty offered compared to any other competitor in WA within the same industry (we regularly check for this, if we've missed a competitor update their terms and conditions, please notify this to us).
What is meant by "manufacturing defects" is that if any damage has been sustained to your furniture from when your furniture was being built, we will for free, either replace the broken part, fix your furniture or entirely replace your furniture. Prime Picnic Tables reserves the right of discretion to be able to decide which option is most appropriate.
What is meant by "critical structural timber damage and materials warranty" is when in the unlikely circumstance that any wooden part or metal fixture which includes the bolts/nuts/washers or screws, breaks for any reason, due to unanticipated structural weakness. An example of this is an internal crack in the wood that could have developed over time from normal use and wear and tear. Sometimes, thick and structurally sound wood breaks. If this happens, we will for free, either replace the broken part, fix your furniture or replace your furniture.
This warranty excludes covering inappropriate handling and use of our furniture. Our furniture has been designed to accommodate people sitting on it for activities such as dining. Any uses outside of this nature that is considered inappropriate, will not be covered by our warranty.
Please note that our warranty excludes the silvering or natural fading colour of wood or other natural wooden features such as flaking/surface checking. Your 4-year warranty is also subject to you providing basic maintenance to your furniture, you will need to ensure that you have correctly followed in accordance and in a timely manner, our recommendations outlined in the question answered at the top of the FAQ drop-down menu on this page, under: (Basic Maintenance: How long will my furniture last and how can I further preserve it?).
We will endeavour to carry out the warranty in a short timeframe convenient to both parties. The warranty is conducted by us free of charge including delivery and time and money spent on labour and materials. We ultimately reserve the right to proceed with how the warranty will be conducted.
We can build tiny tables and larger ones up to 6m+
